Well, the only tough girl in this band is Martina Sorbara and I had a chance to chat with lead singer and the only female in the band about her solo career before Dragonette, life on the road with the men including her husband and their upcoming show at the Casbah.

Crookers maybe not be a name you’re completely familiar with, but chances are you’ve heard their ripping electro remix of Kid Cuddi “Day and Night”. These Italian monsters have been causing a ruckus in the global dance music scene, having worked with everyone from Armand van Helden to Tocadisco to Bloody Beatroots....Recently, Nightdreamer sat down with the guys before their show at Skybar (The Guvernment). Their English is still a bit rough as they’ve admittedly only learned the language a couple years ago.

Steve is the founder of Dim Mak Records, (www.dimmak.com for more info) who’s released music from Bloc Party, The Kills, MSTRKRFT, The Klaxons, The Gossip, Laidback Luke, Sinichi Osawa, Diplo and others. He’s remixed everyone from Duran Duran to Chris Cornell to D.I.M. to Jukie XL. His Dim Mak clothing label is also a highly recognised brand and aided in developing lines for WESC headphones, Supra Footwear, and KSUBI glasses. Occassionlly he sleeps. His deep, throbbing bass line sound and style as enabled him to hold down a former residency at Guvernment Nightclub and taken him to gigs in Mexico, US, and Exit Festival in Belgrade, Serbia. Hamilton is no stranger to hundreds of skateboarders showing off their tricks and abilities at the many skate parks around the city. On August 15th and 16th the Annual Hamilton Sk8 Jam is back to allow some local skaters a chance to prove themselves.
“It’s the longest running skateboard competition of it’s nature,” said skateboard shop owner and member of Hamilton Skateboard Assembly (HAS) Conrad Hotrum.

Michael “Deko-ze” Babb began his career in the club scene in 1993, with the inception of the Plastic Puppet Motive. PPM was a Saskatoon based events company who created themed events for people wanted something different. These 3 day events had people bused in from Calgary, Regina and Winnipeg to bringing everyone together. In 1997, he moved to Toronto to pursue bigger opportunities and since has become a staple in the Canadian dance music scene.
